About This Work:
When war was declared, I watched in stunned disbelief as a city full of people was bombed. War, I remember reading on a bumper sticker, is a failure of imagination, which feels hollow when concrete is falling on our friends, family, fellow human beings.
I painted this piece out of a desire to encase that madness, to contain the harm born of disconnection and greed. I wish healing upon those who are strangers to themselves who support cruelty, violence and money hoarding. This painting is a prayer for people to live in harmony and understanding, to be free from tyranny, and for heaven on Earth for all.

About This Work:
While listening to Ossie Davis’s powerful eulogy, I envisioned a fiery twister erupting from the earth and spiraling into the sky.
A force of transformation.
This painting reflects on legacy, the fierce energy of activism, and the moment that energy becomes memory. Those who remember and act carry the work forward.
The painting asks will Ossie Davis’ work be remembered?
Deep reds, yellows, and browns conjure heat, motion, and reverence.
