Mural

Canal Alliance Mural Project

In 2019, MOS is celebrating a vibrant partnership with Canal Alliance and Storek Studio/Architecture.

Ten local artists have created panels for a 240 square foot mural installed in the lobby entitled “You are Home”/“Sientete en Casa.” This unique collaborative work expresses the challenges inherent in the immigration experience, while celebrating the strength, vitality and aspirations of Marin’s immigrant communities.

Visit the mural during Marin Open Studios as well as the mural artists' studios located on the MOS map found in our Tour Guide.

Marin Open Studios

Welcome to Marin Open Studios. We are an organization dedicated to helping the visual arts flourish in Marin County. As one of the first open studio programs in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have a long legacy of connecting artists to the communities where they live and work.

We can help you find amazing art, meet the award-winning artists who create it, and show you how to visit them in their studios during our annual Open Studios event in May.

Tour Guide

The 2019 tour guide is now available. The tour guide includes information about our 275 local artists, maps & locations, sponsors, and everything else you need to know to make the most of your tour.

Bridge to Abstraction

Marin Open Studios Artists Juried Exhibition
in the Project Gallery at Arc, 1246 Folsom Street, San Francisco, CA
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, November 9th 7-9PM

To bridge the gap between the world we perceive and the reality that prompts it, we engage in a process of abstraction. Abstract art uses a visual language of shape, form, color, tone, line, and texture to construct a composition which exists with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Abstraction creates a world made of images that express emotion, feeling, or other concepts.
