About The Artist
By the time I was seven, I’d lived in seven places across three countries. I was deeply influenced by the varied rhythms of sounds, speech and movement along with the frequently changing visual cues, from intense tropical greens to cool, silvery urban grays. I developed the habit of synthesis: simply put, my mind is a collage making machine. I’m always creating and collecting shapes, textures, patterns, colors. Then I re-examine, crop, rotate and assemble the imagery until I can say, ‘yes – that’s it!’
I studied painting in New York City and San Francisco and began exhibiting in 1992, gaining national exposure by 1993 with solo and group shows across the US. I was honored to be a featured artist in Nancy Reyner’s book “Acrylic Innovation” (North Light Books). My work can be found in private and public collections, including Highland Hospital, Alameda County, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Kaiser Permanente Sacramento, San Francisco Hilton, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Boston, Merrill Corporation Palo Alto, Grove Foundation Los Altos.
Acrylic Paint, Prints and Printmaking, Mixed Media
Nine members of the Creatives by the Bay couldn’t be more excited to exhibit together in one place during Marin Open Studios. From atmospheric to abstract, painterly to contemporary, this diverse collection offers a glimpse of our individual inspirations and journeys. The work ranges in size from very large canvases to smaller works on paper and birch panel framed and ready to hang. Come find the perfect gift for someone you love – or for yourself!
