    The Weight of Afternoon

    The Weight of Afternoon

    $500

    16 x 16 inches

Acrylic with mixed media on wood panel

This painting interprets a traditional tabletop scene utilizing a moody, reflective quality. A single slender arching stem rises to the left from a dark bowl on the right side of the painting. The foreground is a collection of simple, almost primitive forms, implying fruit or eggs, inside bowls or cups. The scene has been flatteneds so that there is no sense of depth. The colors include pale lavenders, icy blues, and soft pinks in the background which contrast with the earthy ochre of the fruit and the deep, near-black of the bowls. The surface has a tactile quality achieved through layers of paper and paint.

The mood is wistful and sparse. The deep arch of the plant suggests a sense of fatigue or bowing to time, while the heavy, “weighted” stone-like fruits feel grounded and permanent. It’s a study in contrasts: the fragility of the living plant versus the solid, unmoving nature of the vessels and stones.

Water Pitchers and Fruit: Still Life Arrangement

Water Pitchers & Fruit: Still Life Arrangement

    $700

    20 x 16 inches

    Acrylic with mixed media

This acrylic painting with mixed media collage echoes Cezanne’s fascination with perspective and the “geometry of nature.”  It feels like a sunny afternoon captured in paint.

The scattered arrangement lends a casual tone to the painting. There are dappled washes of green, oranges and yellows on the fruit and pitchers which are placed on a cool blue tabletop.

    Dustup in the Dog Park

    Dustup in the Dog Park

    $750

    36 x 24inches

Acrylic with mixed media on wood panel

Dustup in the Dog Park captures the joy and chaos of dogs playing in the park. Five dogs are either jumping, running or playing tug of war. Their forms are slightly abstracted focusing more on their gestures rather than anatomical precision.

You can see burnt oranges, deep blues, and magentas used for shadows and highlights. The brush strokes are thick and broken adding to the sense of motion in the painting.

    Bad Bunny

    Bad Bunny

    $500

    16 x 16 inches

Acrylic with mixed media (paper) on wood panel

Collage and acrylic paint were used to create this whimsical mixed media piece.  The two figures on the left side of the painting were revealed after scraping away layers of paint and paper, then finishing with acrylic paint. You can see bits of newsprint and text along with muted pops of pink, blue and green.

    Book of Pages

An altered book of “Gray’s Anatomy”, unbound. A journal of sorts from 2014-2025.

Mixed media, personal, political, my refuge during the dark days, while away from home or simply enjoying drawing mostly in the evenings. Hundreds of drawings 6×9″ each.
