    Location Updating

“Location Updating” explores the “doorway effect”—the cognitive phenomenon where the brain “resets” when moving between spaces—as a metaphor for the profound, often invisible costs of personal transformation. In psychology, this effect occurs because the mind treats a new environment as a new “chapter,” temporarily shelving previous thoughts and intentions to prioritize the fresh context of a new room.

This work internalizes that process, scaling a simple mental lapse into a study of the liminal threshold—the psychological “in-between” where the architecture of the past is dismantled before the future is fully built. It maps the “psychic debris” of transition: the specific memories, identities, and emotional residues we abandon when moving toward a new horizon. In this vast, suspended gap, fragments of a former self collide with the unfamiliar, existing in a state of arrested connection where the old no longer fits and the new has yet to take root.

    Yellow and Pink Composition

    Yellow and Pink Composition

    $1000

    36 x 24 on canvas

    Acrylic and collage collage

This expressive image of a figure in a kimono combines collage and acrylic paint. Bright yellows dominate large areas contrasted by pinks with ribbons of blue, green and red. The use of both transparent and saturated colors adds depth and visual interest. Mystique is generated by the tattoo like shapes on the face and hands. The dark hair and green ribbon rise out of the scalp with a wicked, uncontrolled burst of energy.

The painting’s main composition was quickly rendered but the finished painting took more than a year to find it’s final form.

    Quelle Belle

    Quelle Belle

    $1500

    Acrylic with collage

40 in x 31 in (not including frame)

This painting is bursting with the color and energy of a garden in full bloom. It’s dominated by bright yellows, soft pinks, and deep reds with dark, gestural green branches twisting through the center, anchoring the composition.  The paint is applied thickly, over collaged elements, adding a three-dimensional quality and shimmer to the petals and leaves. It is sure to convey a sense of joy to any setting. It is mounted in a 3/4 inch wood frame that has been painted white.

    Veil of Time

This work explores the Veil of Time—the delicate, invisible membrane that separates our immediate, linear experience from the vast spiritual planes and timeless realities beyond. Like a theatrical curtain or a shifting fog, this veil obscures the full scope of the past and future, binding us to a fleeting present while inviting us to look past the surface of transient life. In every fold and shadow, we are invited to contemplate the hidden echoes of ancestral memory and the “thin places” where the temporal and eternal briefly touch, reminding us that time is a shimmering fabric that both conceals and reveals the deeper truths of our existence.

    Weight of Sound

This piece is layers upon layers of trial and error. Error came from trying to force an aesthetic to happen vs painting in my natural flow.
So I gave up and walked away (3 times)
Fourth attempt I was working on another larger piece and just periodically played with this canvas and just let whatever happened to happen.

While the Weight of Sound is a song by Stick Figure, I am bridging it to the weight of sound in my head – the noise, the rumination…. perseverating over nonsense and the unnecessary obstacles it creates.

This piece is so calm and peaceful yet spunky.
    Me in my unbothered state.

    Enjoy.

    Freedom! ‘26

    I genuinely adore this piece!

Not only does it resonate with a style/genre of art that holds a special place in my heart (as a former graphic designer who frequently worked in this style) – but it also transports me back to the era I grew up in.

In my youth, we were surrounded by artists like Nagel, Lichtenstein, Hockney, Thiebaud, Warhol, and many others. Musicians like Duran Duran, George Michael, INXS, The Cure, Prince, Phil Collins, and a few others were also influential. Additionally, MTV played a significant role with groundbreaking videos like “Take On Me” by A-Ha, “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits, “Sledgehammer” by Peter Gabriel, and “Hungry Like the Wolf” by Duran Duran. Speaking of MTV, let’s not forget Max Headroom!

Arcade games and the advent of home video games were also a part of our daily lives. We had classics like Spy Hunter, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, QBert, Tron, Donkey Kong, Mario, and Zelda.

We were constantly exposed to cutting-edge art and thought-provoking concepts.

This piece serves as a profound tribute to that era, incorporating elements from my youth. While it may appear simple, it is intricate, drawing from various influences.

The title itself holds significance as well. George Michael, during his time with WHAM!, composed the catchy song “Freedom” for their groundbreaking second studio album. Later, during his solo career, he created “Freedom! ’90”. This new song, with a familiar title, was a courageous declaration of embracing and honoring oneself, achieving true alignment. In appreciation of this incredible era and its profound impact on my artistic development, as well as to honor my current state and future aspirations, I named this piece “Freedom! ’26”.

May you enjoy and appreciate this work of art as much as I do and always honor who you are now, and where you are going.

    Escape Hatches 3

Hatches are portals to other places. They uncover lost layers, like peeled wallpaper exposing old images and emotions.

This series explores how simple design rules can lead to expressive compositions. These works blend inspirations from Frank Lloyd Wright’s decorative works, Art Deco patterns, the Bauhaus school, and Sol Le Witt’s rules-based art practice into fresh new compositions.
