    Escape Hatches 1

Hatches are portals to other places. They uncover lost layers, like peeled wallpaper exposing old images and emotions.

This series explores how simple design rules can lead to expressive compositions. These works blend inspirations from Frank Lloyd Wright’s decorative works, Art Deco patterns, the Bauhaus school, and Sol Le Witt’s rules-based art practice into fresh new compositions.

    Carbon

“Carbon”, with his complex collection of containers, can be viewed as the dark character of atmospheric pollution as well as the source of life as we know it. Carbon is the sixth most abundant element in the universe. We get energy from coal, graphite for pencils, diamonds for love, and carbon fiber mountain bikes for fun. A versatile character, his mask can be re-positioned to create different moods.
