This vintage Chinese industrial brush (c. 1940s) was originally used in textile factories to clear threads from industrial looms, helping to reduce fire risk. Handmade by the loom workers, these brushes were often personalized and sometimes decorated with repurposed socks as creative element. The pink fabric and string—reconfigured by the artist into arms and hands—are original to the brush. The head and ears are hand-sculpted in clay and finished with acrylic paint and pastel detailing. One-of-a-kind.
Mounted on metal stand.
