SKYSTAR
“SKYSTAR” is an abstract photograph created in-camera through a combination of artificial light, long exposure, motion, and photographic techniques known as light painting. This approach has been a key part of my creative process for years, evolving through methods like capturing images from the passenger seat of a moving vehicle at night. Each light painting is unique, a spontaneous moment that can never be fully replicated.
The title “SKYSTAR” refers to the actual Ferris wheel at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, CA, which I photographed. While I often title my works based on the emotions, ideas, and inspirations that emerge during the creative process, “SKYSTAR” felt perfectly fitting from the start.
