Until Equilibrium Is Reached

Currently exploring some of the different “me’s” that either currently exist within, ones I have employed that may no longer serve my greater good, others who I hope to become, and/or the aspects I need to fully embrace and grow.

I encourage you to look inside to reflect, explore, embrace and love all the incredible and dynamic parts of yourself with compassion.

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”
– Maya Angelou

Some Semblance Of…

“What’s the greatest lesson a woman should learn?
That since day one, she’s already had everything she needs within herself. It’s the world that convinced her she did not.”

Finding North

For this piece, I decided to repurpose an old “experiment”, keeping the half of it I loved and fully revamping the rest. As the work evolved, it became layers of mountain ranges with an underlying cartography and topography feel. So I decided to fully lean in, integrating a compass rose pointing to Polaris, the North Star.

Photos don’t do this justice. She’s a spectacular piece with many little nuances and beautiful moments.

Then There is No Mountain

Oil on canvas, 18″ x 24″. “Then There Is No Mountain” was inspired by the 1967 Donovan song, “There is a Mountain”, which was based on a saying attributed to a Zen master who lived over a millennium ago.

Nowhere to Hide

Oil on canvas. 40″ x 36″. Winter, with its promise of Spring, may seem desolate in the present, but I still eagerly anticipate a future of renewal.

Falling Awawy

Oil on canvas, 40″ x 36″. This painting explores the idea of simultaneous levels of perception, uncovering the hidden realms of chaotic swirling beneath our everyday visual experiences. The forces opposing rigid structures and false certainties can find balance even amidst the chaos.
