“LEAVES AND WEAVES”
Some time ago I created a series entitled “Shreds”. Using a paper shredder, I made strips of paper which I then wove into works of art. Returning to this method, I have created weavings that I then photographed and integrated into this new print series entitled “Leaves and Weaves”.

Am I painting a portrait of nature or celebrating my deep appreciation? Whichever purpose behind my painting inspirations, the process itself is so alluring. I have no explanations, just a sighting of the light hitting the tops of grasses in front of shadowy hills, and the colors of fire radiating to meet and disappear into the mountains beyond.

Baby Blue is a visual response to whales found on Bolinas Beach—a way to honor and foster awareness.
I begin with layers of luminous ground, enabling the interplay of light with silver. The sun’s rays shifting on the panels creates an ever-changing image. Forms emerge and dissolve like ocean waves.
