Artist Statement

My artwork is a reminder of a happy place or time. An ethereal state of mind combining colors, shapes and ideas. My college education is science based, so I continue in my artistic journey to refine and expand my work. I combine layering, collage, mark making, encaustics, mono prints, and image transfers in my pieces, never knowing the outcome until the final reveal. Art and Science combined, my work is a culmination of elements and experiments to expose a cohesive and homeostatic reveal with little surprises along the way.

My art has been shown in Hawaii, Southern California, Sayulita Mexico, and galleries in Marin County, and San Francisco.

Biography

I grew up on the pristine shores of New Jersey (60’s), sunny So Cal.(70’s), Hawaii(80’s), and now beautiful Marin County, where I reside. I have enjoyed art most of my life whether it’s playing piano, singing, or creating my in my studio. Most of my pieces are a reflection of my love of travel, science, culture and nature.

I am passionate about my work and enjoy discovering new and creative techniques in my artistic journey. Mainly self taught, I have taken numerous workshops and college level courses to continuously improve my artistic skills.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene, and minor in Nutritional Science from University of Hawaii, Manoa. I have a post graduate certification from the University of Pacific Dental School in SF.

My studio is located in Corte Madera, Ca.
