Encaustic on paper.
20×16
Encaustic Monotypes are one-of-a-kind paintings. They are created on a heated palette using encaustic pigment. The encaustic is then transferred to paper much like a printing process. It cannot be duplicated. The monotype is made by laying a thin piece of paper on hot wax. Once the paper is put down and pressed into the wax, the wax soaks into the paper, the exact design and thickness of wax can never be repeated.

Abraham Lincoln is a life-size portrait in oil. The painting measures 44″ x 72″ high. I am an American history buff. Abraham Lincoln was the first heroic figure I wanted to capture on canvas. The many months I spent in research and development were joyous. Where the painting has been on exhibit, the comment most often heard is, “He looks so alive!” Many just stand and stare, moved, I believe, by the connection they feel at that moment with the spirit of this great man.
