Visitors FAQ
1. What is Marin Open Studios?
It’s an annual event, held the first two weekends in May, in which the public browses art and visits artists in their studios throughout Marin. There are 250-300 participating artists in a typical year.
2. How do I visit the Artist Studios?
We suggest you start with a visit to the Pop-Up Gallery, which is open from late April until the second Sunday of May, and displays one piece of art from each participating artist. There you can pick up a guide and map, and plan your tour. Alternatively, you can visit MarinOpenStudios.org to find the art and artists you would like to visit. The website is also an easy way to find art and artists year-round.
3. Is there a cost?
No, the event is free. As a non-profit, we welcome donations, which can be made through the website and are tax deductible as allowed by law.
4. Can I be involved if I’m not an artist?
Yes! We are always seeking sponsors, donors and volunteers to help with the team effort that makes this event a success every year.
