    Spirit Rock

Spirit Rock was painted primarily in plein air along Sir Francis Drake Blvd in San Geronimo Valley. The scene was painted over several days returning to the site at the same hour to attempt to capture the mood and atmosphere of the prior day’s work with final adjustments made in the studio.

    Vintage Vine

The wine country is a favorite place of mine for photography. However, for me there is a twist. I love shooting the vines in the fall, as the leaves on the vines are turning to browns and yellows, and the grapes (if there are grapes still on the vines), are smaller and showing their age.

    Butterfly Begonia

I have a series that speaks to the importance of flowers and pollinators that provide for the existence of life.  I use damaged and discarded vinyl records along with repurposed communications wire.  These materials can take thousands of years to decompose in a landfill.  Using unconventional materials requires the creation of new techniques.  I enjoy this challenge and find it rewarding when the underlying message is realized through my art.   Along the way, I’ve come to understand that a unique medium can provide a new learning experience unveiling something extraordinary.  I’m committed to creating art that has a lasting impression, expands the boundaries of creativity and simply brings joy.

Materials: repurposed vinyl records, repurposed communication wire.

    Sweet Nectar

Another in my hummingbird series. This beautiful Anna’s Hummingbird loved this particular plan in my garden and kept returning for a refill all afternoon.

    Standing Tall

Sometimes finding the right location/angle/distance can make all the difference in the resulting artwork. In this case I had done some climbing in the surrounding hills and came upon this incredibly beautiful view of one of the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was an extremely beautiful evening and colors in the sky along with the lights on the bridge really made this stand out.
