Description: Knotless netting is an ancient textile technique using rope to make nets. The process requires passing the full length of rope through each loop. By using repurposed telephone wire I changed the modus operandi. I am able to form sculptural art that’s contemporary but also expands of boundaries of this technique.
Hand crocheted cardigans with super soft cotton/poly blend yarns. Light weight enough for Spring/Summer, cozy enough for Fall/Winter.

‘Regeneration’ speaks to medical breakthroughs that have been discovered for both humans and animals. Antlers are the fastest growing tissue of any mammal. Research using stem cell biology at the molecular & cellular level has led to; tissue regeneration, vitro organ regeneration & bone remodeling. This sculptural vessel used one of the oldest weaving textile techniques called knotless netting.

My series of shoe sculptures I use the ancient weaving technique called knotless netting. This hand weaving precedes crochet and was originally used to make clothing. The process is laborious and it involves passing the full length of the wire through each loop. It allows me to meditate and absorb the thought process of each piece. My sculptural art is not only contemporary but expands of boundaries of this ancient technique.
