About The Artist
My photography is driven by the excitement of watching wildlife live within its natural rhythms. I’m drawn to behavior—the way animals move through space, how they feed, rest, interact, and respond to subtle changes in their environment—as well as to the visual language within it: shape, texture, color, pattern, and form. These are the same principles that guide painting and other fine arts, and they exist naturally in wildlife and landscape. Returning to these observations again and again keeps the work grounded and continually revealing.
I photograph primarily in Marin County and nearby coastal and wetland landscapes, spending extended time in familiar places. Over time, repeated behaviors, relationships, and visual patterns become clear, and small variations take on significance. This sustained attention shapes how I see and how I photograph.
Nature and light are collaborators in the process, and my role as a photographer is to translate what I observe into images. Through choices of framing, timing, and perspective, I aim to create photographs that reflect the experience of watching closely and being present.
By sharing moments of honest behavior and connection, I hope the photographs foster curiosity, respect, and a deeper appreciation for the living systems that make them possible.
I grew up where the marsh meets the bay. I studied photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and when not in the water I’m behind the lens.
I’m a photographer drawn to moments that feel alive, whether they unfold in wild places or among the people who matter most. I work with patience and intention, translating light, movement, and emotion into photographs that feel honest and enduring. Less about spectacle, more about connection—my work lives where careful observation becomes art.
