“Remedios the Beauty”
The name “Remedios the Beauty” comes from a character in Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s book : “One Hundred years of Solitude”. She is simple minded and oblivious to her beauty and the effects it has on the people around her, but that is not really what the painting is about. The name comes from a name in Spanish culture of the Virgin Mary, sometimes called the Lady of Cures, or remedies. This painting is about inner beauty
