About The Artist
Artist Statement
I have been a jewelry artist for more than 20 years, letting serendipity guide my use of materials and construction. Starting with walking into the (now defunct) Mill Valley Bead Shop, to being gifted a box of antique buttons, then a desk full of watch parts, and pointed to a pile of shatter window glass, I now adventure far and wide to collect the treasures used in my jewelry.
The current collection is focused on shells collected largely in California combined with natural pearls and Ethiopian opal.
Biography
Born and raised in Fresno, my love of jewelry is inspired by my sisters, and of art by my mother and grandmother. I have now lived in Mill Valley for 33 years. In addition to my jewelry making, I have a side-gig as a neuroscientist.
