About The Artist

Artist Statement

I like to tell a story in my artwork; each wood panel is richly layered with paint and paper to include images that have been “revealed” or stripped away.  This is to create the feeling that my artworks are painted on old walls with torn wallpaper or on cement walls (like a Fresco) with torn notes revealed years later.  I sometimes add small objects (buttons, shells, small boxes, ribbon, jewelry, tags) and/or some glitter in my artworks  to add whimsey to each story.

Biography

I have been artistic my entire life but only now taking it to the next level.  I have always been a part of the art world in some way including being a tour guide (aka Docent) for 18 years at the SFMOMA and other venues. I am currently spending my creative time on Mixed Media projects on thick wood panels. I was invited and participated in 2 juried shows in 2022: “Delicious” presented by Cedars & The San Anselmo Arts Commission 9/3/22- 11/11/22 “The Small Works Exhibit” presented by Artworks Downtown San Rafael 11/19/22- 1/21/23
