About The Artist
After a dedicated career studying cellular pathways in a laboratory, I have found a new passion in retirement: exploring the wonders of Marin through photography. Equipped with a camera, cell phone, or drone, I aim to capture the beauty and power of nature from unique perspectives.
While I am self-taught and often navigate this artistic journey through trial and error, each stumble is a steppingstone towards growth and discovery. My work is a testament to the resilience and determination that drive my creative spirit. I believe that every moment spent behind the lens is an opportunity to learn and evolve.
I am deeply inspired by the natural world and strive to reveal its hidden gems in ways that resonate with viewers. I welcome all feedback, ideas, and constructive criticism as I continue to develop my skills and expand my artistic horizons
Robert (Rob) Halenbeck, a native of Malibu, has no formal training in art or photography as his life long passion was in science where he was trained as a researcher focusing on the discovery of novel biologics for cancer patients. After four decades of lengthy commutes to anywhere but Marin, Rob, now retired, relishes the opportunity to be local and explore the breathtaking views of this beautiful county. As a novice, Rob continuously grows and hones his skills through instructive feedback from friends and fellow artists, as well as training videos on YouTube. Rob’s work reflects his passion for uncovering the hidden beauty of nature and sharing it with others. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the joy of lifelong learning.
