I’ve always been drawn to imagery of individuals in truly authentic life moments (both in photography and painting), and therefore I try to ensure the lives and personalities of my subjects are accurately portrayed in my work.  I use my portraiture and street photography as catalysts for my paintings, selecting images that have an underlying current of social commentary, or subjects that have gone through personal hardships or trauma.
