About The Artist
I am an oil painter, mostly landscapes and still life. I am inspired by Van Gogh, Cezanne, Picasso, Manet and so many more. Loose but accurate is my mantra, always exploring without expectations of the outcome.
After loving to draw, I thought that would be the end of it, but 9 years ago, while living part-time in Mexico, I took a painting class from a wonderful Canadian teacher named Donna Dixon. Donna told me about Carol Marine who helped me let go of painting too much detail, instead painting the general not the specific, shapes not things. I’ve also studied with Dennis Perrin, Tim Horn and Aimee Erickson. Currently I am enrolled at College of Marin and studying painting from live models. I’ve always been curious about painting nudes and am now getting my chance to jump in! Mostly, I just paint and paint and paint because of course, it’s about practice, not perfection; it’s about exploration and discovery. I love to paint and feel so fortunate to be able to do what I love.
