About The Artist
Abstractions of color, movement and a place in time.
As a visual artist, I am drawn to how our visual perceptions and emotional sensibilities connect us. It is the abstract elements of color, shape, line, movement and a place in time that we all intuitively feel, see, engage and remember; our emotions as human beings. Nature, people, the world around me, and shared experiences are a source of my creative inspiration. Deconstructing what I see into simple relationships: sections of landscapes, organic forms, lines and interpretations into color, the painted image evolves as it becomes a balance of all parts to the whole. The painting process is a dance between the materials, the substrate and my seeing it as the image unfolds. The influence of the world around me is integrated into the making of the art, the image always leads and I am the mark-maker, mover of medium on surfaces.
