During the pandemic lockdown, I created a daily photo journal to keep myself making art. Being confined to a single location for many months (years?) challenged me to find a fresh photo each day. Tracking the sun patterns streaming into my house, I followed the light around whenever it appeared. One morning I walked across a light reflection and was shocked to see my messy pandemic silhouette shadow. I poised so my shadow merged with the light shapes, crowning me with a glowing light hat.
Pandemic Self is a composite photo of bright light shapes and my gray silhouette, encapsulating my feeling of living in endless monotone time.
