Layers of color mirror the way the earth holds memory, what’s buried, what endures, what rises again. This piece reflects the slow process of change and repair, where time and nature leave traces of both loss and renewal. It’s less about landscape and more about the quiet persistence beneath it all.
This piece reflects the tension within transformation. The forms suggest emergence, but also the resistance that comes with life’s challenges to change. Layers of color build and erode, mirroring how growth often requires both breaking and rebuilding. ‘My favorite motto, change is not always easy but when you step back and look, you can often see the silver lining’
Violet Breath is about movement held in stillness. The work grew from an interest in how color and gesture can express what we feel in nature but can’t always name…the quiet between waves, the air just before light shifts. I use layers of paint to build depth and let motion emerge naturally. It’s less about describing a place and more about capturing the pulse of being there.
