30×40 Limited edition, Darkroom -printed by Zeny
About eight o’clock, on a cold January morning, I found myself standing on the Via San Francesco in Assisi, Italy getting ready to take a photograph of this beautiful street in the morning light. Just as I was ready to take the picture, a Friar walked into the frame and by this happy coincidence I captured one of my 10 favorite photographs…and, I think, one of my best.
The image, ‘Friar, Assisi’ is one of which I refer to as my photography trifecta. I like it very much, I feel as it’s an excellent image and collectors respond to it to the extent that I have almost sold out the edition of 150 and only have a few darkroom-printed photographs remaining in my studio.
The light, wonderful monochromatic colors, the textures and the composition all combine to form an almost perfect photographic image (thanks to the Friar).
