This is a textured rendering of a tree branch in warm tones of orange, peach and hints of yellow. The cool palette of the upper half evokes a sense of sky or water. The lower portion transitions into warmer hues of peach, pink and cream. The ethereal quality of the painting poses the question as to whether the branch is floating in water or blowing in the wind?
The paint is applied thickly using oil and cold wax over acrylic and paper. There are visible marks achieved with a palette knife application.
It’s an abstract interpretation of nature, focusing on the dreamlike feeling that falling leaves evokes.
