This expressive image of a figure in a kimono combines collage and acrylic paint. Bright yellows dominate large areas contrasted by pinks with ribbons of blue, green and red. The use of both transparent and saturated colors adds depth and visual interest. Mystique is generated by the tattoo like shapes on the face and hands. The dark hair and green ribbon rise out of the scalp with a wicked, uncontrolled burst of energy.
The painting’s main composition was quickly rendered but the finished painting took more than a year to find it’s final form.
