About The Artist
Welcome friends! My underlying artist philosophy is “Celebrating Connections and Beauty in our World”. My name is Patti Ramos and I am a watercolor artist living in picturesque Marin County California. I work full time in the public school system as a Speech Language Pathologist helping young students develop and refine their communication skills. Equal to my passion for teaching is my passion for painting. My aim is to capture the light reflecting off the physical world to reveal the enchanted essence of all that is around us, to unlock the explosion of color we see in the world and recreate it in the world of the sacred. I strive to capture connections in animals, in people and in our natural environment, to find the spirituality in moments of stillness, to find hidden truths in the world around us and our place in it, and express this in light.
Patti Ramos’s artistic body of work is known for her philosophy of “Celebrating Connections and Beauty in our World”. Patti began her artistic life as a child drawing and entering art contests. When she grew up, she fell in love with watercolor, taking classes beginning when her kids were young. She continues to take classes with the Thursday Evening Painters, a creative and inspiring local artistic community. Her kids inspired her to begin painting En Plein air. For many years she has participated in Plein Air paint outs both at the Marin County Fair and up the west coast at the Oregon Lavender Festival. Plein air painting combines both of Patt’s passions, painting and teaching, allowing her to inspire young artists as they come up to meet the painters in the field. She brings extra supplies so young artists can paint alongside her. Patti wishes for you all to be moved by her paintings, and maybe even inspired to express your own creative vision. Patti has shown her watercolor paintings in many shows over the years, including the following:
