About The Artist
My work explores pattern, texture and color through an intuitive practice in the studio. I move between abstraction and realism. Inspiration can come from anywhere. I often feel as if I’m stopped in my tracks by a subconscious familiarity that pulls me to create an image of what’s before me.
I keep a dream journal, referring to it for inspiration. I draw or paint subject matter floating across the picture plane in a dreamlike state of recollection tied together by a common theme. Recent works created during lockdown include color fields inspired by patterns found in nature and detailed ink drawings on paper. I also include fabric in some works creating relief to achieve a more tactile experience. To celebrate your love for something or someone is a sacred thing. I consider my work “a gift from Gaia.” It’s my way to share with the viewer my own personal space of observation.
