About The Artist

Artist Statement

My artistic voice is the narrative outlet of an overactive inner world, deeply influenced by the myths and stories I grew up with. In my current body of work, I combine porcelain and assemblage to tell stories born from the collision of personal and collective memory with the realities of our era.

Each of my sculptures is born from a slow and meditative process where the central figure is hand-built with porcelain, refined, carved, and finished with underglazes and selective glaze. Despite its temperamental nature, I prefer working with porcelain for its specific properties that allow for very delicate details. After the last firing, I take the time to understand what the sculpture needs from me, edit my original ideas, let them grow in my subconscious until I am ready to complete it through the assemblage of wire, stained glass, various hand made elements and found objects with a story.

I aspire to create artwork that resonates profoundly with the viewers inner world, their experiences, symbols and references. By slowing down to observe and take in the details of a piece, they embark on their own journey and weave their own narrative.
