About The Artist
As a multidisciplinary artist, I draw on a diverse range of creative mediums to explore and express themes informed by my unconventional upbringing. I was born in a school bus in the deep South and raised in nature as part of a large social experiment. My work delves into themes of transformation, the immaterial, community, and the interplay between the individual and the natural world.
I use light and color to evoke a sense of the intangible; inviting a sense of wonder for the everyday. In addition to traditional materials and techniques I often incorporate found imagery, toys, and a variety of other materials to create pieces that reflect on the transitory nature of life.
I received my B.A. in Fine Art and B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. I later spent a year abroad at the Lorenzo De Medici in Florence, Italy where I met my mentors who I have studied with for over twenty years, two South African artists known collectively as Rosenclaire.
You can see my work at CityArt gallery on Valencia Street in the Mission in San Francisco. I also have work in private and corporate collections in California, Colombia, England, France, Italy, Mexico, New York, and South Africa.
