About The Artist
Portrait commissions are my main focus. They are always challenging and enjoyable. Besides the facial characteristics, representing the recognizable body language of my subjects is, I believe, key to making the best possible likeness. Face, body, aura. Please give me a call if you are interested in having your portrait painted @ 415-246-2541 or email me at kathleenlack@gmail.com. The process involves initially getting together to discuss your ideas for the portrait. I prefer to work directly from the subject, although most people don’t have the time to sit (20 minute increments of time x 2-3 hours per sitting), as opposed to having a photo shoot. Either way works for me. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Aside from doing portraits, I love painting ballet scenes, western scenes, and various other genres that you can view on my website: http://www.kathleenlack.com
I studied at San Jose State University. Beyond getting married and raising a family – I studied at the College of Marin for many years. With many other students under Kent Rupp’s tutelege, we formed a group that exhibited in numerous venues and eventually formed what is now MarinMOCA. I have been teaching “The Portrait and the Figure” class at MarinMOCA for the past 20 or so years. I have also been teaching at the Novato Unified School Districts 4th and 5th grades under MarinMOCA’s Arts Enrichment Program.
