I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t interested in one kind of art or another – weaving, sewing, knitting, macrame, pastels, acrylics, drawing, watercolor all had their turns but oil painting turned out to be the one I really wanted to pursue. Time went by and when our son left for college I started looking for a teacher. I was ready to get serious. A friend told me about the Marin Art School and after one class I was hooked. The Colorist palate taught by Dorallen Davis really spoke to me. The bright colors and impressionist style radiated life and elan. I have painted with the MAS group for a number of years now and feel fortunate to have benefited from all their knowledge and care. I have also studied with Jeanette Le Grue and Carole Watanabe and take workshops with other artists whenever possible.

During the last few years I have showed my work at various galleries, art shows and business offices. My primary focus is landscapes, particularly West Marin, but I also like painting people, pets, flowers – anything actually! Having the opportunity to paint has been one of the great joys of my life. I never get tired of painting. There is nothing better than being outside on our beautiful planet painting. My goal as an artist is to capture the essence and surprising colors that reveal themselves when one really looks.
