Linda Fitzpatrick was raised in Orange County, CA and earned a BA in Environmental Biology at UC Santa Barbara. In 1980 she relocated to the Bay Area, eventually to settle in San Rafael. After a 40 year career in Information Technology, her lifelong love of nature and the outdoors led her to pursue the skill of plein air (outdoor, on location) oil painting. She began study with Dorallen Davis at the Marin Art School where she learned the “Colorist” and “Impressionist” approach to painting and continues to pursue training to enhance her skills. The beauty of Marin County provides so much inspiration and opportunity for plein air painting, literally right outside one’s front door. She finds joy in the privilege and challenge of capturing a bit of that beauty on canvas.
