About The Artist
I have loved creating art since my childhood, but more recently my love of painting has resulted in a way of seeing color and light from a colorist’s viewpoint. Whether I am outside painting a landscape en plain air, or inside painting a still life or figure, I am still trying to capture the way light affects color and the way color can affect not only the mood of the painting, but the mood of the person looking at the painting as well.
I grew up in northern California, spending my early childhood in San Francisco, and later Monterey, where I went to High school. I went to college at UC Davis and UCLA, and took art classes at both places. I later studied at San Francisco State University, where I studied photography and video production and earned a BA degree in visual communication. I return to my childhood love of making art by taking courses in painting and drawing at Sonoma State University, College of Marin, and Marin Art School.
My paintings have been juried in to The Marin County fair Fine Arts exhibits many times, The Marin Society of Artists juried shows, San Francisco Women Artists show, Bolinas Gallery Left Coast colorists show, and several other exhibits over the years since I began painting in oils.
I enjoy hiking in beautiful Marin, reading, going to museums and art exhibits, going to the movies, traveling, and of course, drawing and painting!
