About The Artist
Nadia Tarzi-Saccardi is an award-winning, autodidact ceramic artist based in Marin County. Originally from Europe, she began her studies in ceramics and sculpture in Strasbourg, France and is deeply grateful for the mentorship she received from accomplished ceramicists in both Europe and the United States, whose guidance helped refine her technical foundation and artistic voice.
For over a decade, Nadia collaborated closely with her father, renowned archaeologist Professor Tarzi, gaining experience in art restoration and contributing to published works on Central Asian archaeology with a focus on Buddhist studies.
Over the past 15 years, she has taught ceramic arts throughout the Bay Area, including at Terra Linda Ceramics, Mill Valley Potter’s Studio, and the Walnut Creek Arts Center. In 2017, she became the director of Terra Linda Ceramics TLCA. In March 2020, at the onset of the pandemic, she launched online ceramic courses to support fellow artists who were isolated and to sustain creative connection within the community.
She has curated several ceramic exhibitions, including two online exhibitions during the pandemic and a recurring group show presented at the CCACA in Davis.
Nadia is deeply committed to mentoring emerging ceramic artists, a passion that inspired her to found the Ceramic Art Center of Marin (CACM), an initiative dedicated to supporting advanced and professional ceramic artists through expanded opportunities, mentorship, and resources for artistic growth.
