About The Artist
Amanda’s work is a love song to lived-in spaces and wild California beauty. Her studio landscape and plein air paintings pay tribute to light, poetry of place, and finding extraordinary scenes in everyday places.
Originally trained as an archaeologist, Amanda has worked extensively in the field and spent the past two decades working as a published author, museum exhibit designer, and mother to three boys. Her archaeological work centered on ancient rock art sites and theories concerning the origins of art, and she has had the pleasure of working on notable international and global heritage sites. All of this informs a profound appreciation of returning to her great true love — painting — and her chosen subject matter.
