If you drive to the north end of Point Reyes National Seashore, to Pierce Point Ranch, you can walk from there to McClure’s Beach on the open Pacific. From there, the Tomales Point trail heads even further north, and on the way to the very tip (a long walk!), you will come upon this stunning view. What I like about it is the quintessential Coastal Sage Scrub ecosystem, the gorgeous clear blue water, and dramatic coastal California cliffs. The seascape is constantly changing with the wind, tides, and coastal atmosphere. The offshore breeze brings salt and sage to your senses. This oil painting is on a clear-finished 12″x12″x1 3/4″ deep birch wood panel, and may be hung as-is, or if you wish, a frame can be added.
