The nation’s witness to 8 minutes and 46 seconds of torture, his pleas to breathe, and calls to his mother ignited a national rage expressed in protests and riots. With tears streaming down my face, I was moved to embroider his dying words in this vintage distressed American flag. Silence is violence.
