Get In The Car Kids It’s Time To Go: IDPs Refugees Detainees and Deportees is a documentary art installation of a mock boutique for a clothing line of baby and toddler clothing appliquéd with the label IDP* Refugee Detainee or Deportee. Clothing tags communicate important factoids about the idp/refugee/immigration detainee and deportee dilemma that is affecting our entire world today. Viewers are encouraged to peruse the racks of clothing and read the tags as if they were shopping in a boutique.
(The installation size and layout can be adjusted to fit the parameters of the designated exhibit space.)

*An IDP is an “Internally Displaced Person” which means a refugee who
stays within the borders of his/her country. There are more IDPs and refugees
as the result of climate change/extreme weather than there are from war/conflict.
