Jan Buscho

San Rafael, CA

My work is inspired by nature, interpreted through my imagination to evoke a mood or impression that communicates my personal vision. My paintings draw from my life and experience and change as I grow artistically. I currently am incorporating some gold leaf in select paintings and am experimenting with different surfaces and textures.

I have creatively engaged in drawing, ceramics, pastel painting, and now I work primarily in oils. After college I lived in Paris for a year where I studied art and graphic design. When I moved to Mendocino I became involved in the Mendocino Art Center where I continued learning drawing and painting from some of the talented artists living in that artistic community.

I am active in the Marin arts community and have participated in the Marin Open Studios since 2010. I have exhibited extensively in the Bay Area.
