Like so many artists in Marin County I am inspired by the abundant nature around me. Landscapes and architectural interiors and exteriors tend to be a focus and pushing work to abstraction is exciting for me. Much of my work relies on invented color spaces that are often left up to the viewer's interpretation. Although my training was in the traditional arts with a focus on oil painting, I currently work both digitally (with a computer drawing tablet) and in acrylics on wood and canvas.
Drawing on a 25-year career as a graphic designer, color composition and value are often jumping off points for me. I create landscapes, still life and architecturally inspired work ranging from figurative to abstract. I have a fine arts degree from Trinity College in Hartford, CT and have been drawing and painting throughout my career in graphic design. I am currently represented by Studio E Partners in Washington D.C.
