San Rafael, CA
In drawing and painting I am drawn to the act of observing, to the learning involved in manipulating the mediums, and, most especially, to the thoughts and experiences that arise as the painting develops. For the past two years I have been focusing on watercolor painting, being attracted to the elusive spontaneity of the medium. I think of the paintings as notations in a travel journal that record moments on a journey.
I received a MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.
I have been teaching, within various programs, at the College of Marin since 1996, and currently offer a class with COM Community Ed Art.
My art work has been in various shows, galleries and collections in Northern California and Illinois.
I am a native of San Francisco and currently live in San Rafael.
I am also a retired psychologist/administrator.
