"I love how light touches darkness.... I'm drawn to the unguarded moment, stripped of artifice, a caught thought trapped in the body that betrays an inner life. I feel the surrender of a tulip, the mood of the ocean and the storm at the center of a rose."
My grandmother was a professional artist in the 1920's. I never met her, I only knew her through the paintings she left behind. My mother picked up the brush and is still painting at the age of 96! I've been inspired by a legacy of women painters in my family and art is what I practice daily often thinking I only know myself when painting.
