DESCRIPTION

Marin Wetlands, Paintings by the BayWood Artists

Join the BayWood Artists in celebrating their 25th year!

“MARIN WETLANDS – Benefiting One Tam” will feature over 100 original paintings of the wetlands of Marin County by professional artists Christin Coy, Laura Culver, Jon Francis, Robert Frank, Michael Friedland, Sherrill Miller, Lissa Nicolaus, Jean Sanchirico and Robert Steele. They will focus on the vital and fragile link between land and water, with on-location paint outs in the months leading up to the show.

Since its founding 25 years ago, the BayWood Artists have partnered with a nonprofit group each year to raise funds and promote awareness for Bay Area environmental causes. Half of the proceeds from this year’s show will go to support One Tam for the long-term preservation and stewardship of Marin County’s Mount Tamalpais and its surrounding environment. Bothin Marsh of Mill Valley is one of several wetlands project areas of One Tam. Together the BayWood Artists and One Tam hope to help preserve and protect this and other sensitive wetland ecosystems.

“MARIN WETLANDS” opens to the public with an opening reception on Friday, September 9, 6pm- 8pm.

The art show will continue on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11 from 10am – 4pm. Admission is free.
