About The Artist

Artist Statement

My artwork is a reflection of the vibrant and dynamic world around me, as seen from my studio on the dock in Sausalito. Drawing inspiration from nature and the energy of people who pass by, my abstract paintings feature recognizable symbolic shapes rendered in bold, bright colors and large brushstrokes.

In exploring the duplicity of this world, I have incorporated fluorescent and glow-in-the-dark materials into my canvases and watercolor paper, creating a sense of movement and unpredictability. I have also expanded my artistic expression into fashion, creating custom jackets and sneakers that showcase my unique aesthetic.

Through my art, I aim to capture the essence of the world around me, conveying its vibrancy and energy in a way I hope is both captivating and thought-provoking.

Biography

I got bit by the art bug at an early age… making cards and drawings with pencils and crayons as presents for my family. Later in High School, I took as many art classes as I could, but found pencil drawing and watercolor painting to be my favorites. I continued studying art in college at Western Michigan University. While there I discovered a new creative outlet in video production and writing. That’s when I got into the broadcast news industry where I would remain for the next 30 years. After leaving the business during Covid, I dove back into drawing and painting. I moved to Marin nearly two years ago and have been working out of an incredible studio in Sausalito. Rediscovering my passion for fine art has been a magical experience and one that I am truly grateful for.
