Floating Apricot Blooms is an abstract floral piece with a layered , textured quality, evoking a sense of a vibrant and dreamlike garden.
There’s a sense of movement and depth created by the overlapping layers and varying opacities of paint. The eye travels easily from the darker flowers of the foreground in the lower portion of the painting, moving upwards into softer washes of pink and white, landing finally on the explosion of color in the top right corner.
Collage elements help to achieve the noticeable texture while translucent layers allow underlying surfaces to show through.
