San Anselmo, CA

My artistic influences have taken many forms. Watching my father make furniture...getting a snapshot of Yorkshire's 'Dark satanic mills' as my folks drove past the blast furnaces lining the road through Sheffield, where I was born...the Yorkshire Dales...the wild coast of Connemara in the west of Ireland...the Ring of Brodgar in Orkney, Scotland... Quimper in Brittany...Florence...Rome...and Alexander Calder....they have all had an impact...a delicious melange... Now it is my adopted Northern California, and more recently San Miguel de Allende in Mexico where I like to spend half the year...

Born and raised in England, ending up in Northern California after a long, strange trip...
With my wife Lynn, I live part of the year in San Miguel de Allende in Central Mexico where I had my first open studio back in February of this year.
I have always made stuff but only recently veered into the concept of creating mobiles and work on paper and canvas.

My career as a concert piano technician and more recently as the piano curator at the Department of Music at Stanford, now semi-retired, left very little time to explore other deep felt artistic urges...now I have the time I sincerely hope you like the results...
