I am a representational artist. By that I mean I use color and drawing to represent natural elements. However, I am always conscious of the abstract design of the work. I look for subjects with movement. I love to paint Animals (often horses) and Dancers. Native American events inspire me with their movement, excitement and color. I always loved to draw and was inspired by my teacher Joe Mugnainni at Otis Art Institute. I earned my BFA from California College of Art (Oakland) in 1976. Those artist-teachers that I have found most inspiring are Jean Henry, Don Hatfield, Carolyn Anderson and Mark Daily. The books by Dan McCaw and Richard Schmid have been very useful.
