Two of the series shown on this website, "Too Many Fishermen" and "Beach Bodies" continue a style I've been painting for years portraying people in everyday situations, but shown from a bird's eye view. I love long cast shadows and whenever I see multiple people from a high perch, I start thinking about putting the scene on canvas. Water is usually a theme in my paintings and this year I began exploring abstracts.

I have lived in Marin most of my life. I was born and raised in Portland Oregon and perhaps because of my life on the West Coast, water, beaches, and fishing are main components in my paintings. As a child artistic endeavors were an important part of my life and later I studied with many teachers here in Marin. My studio is currently at home, which I love.
